heading on a road trip, gonna see the desert
buddy's got peyote, gonna see how that works
found a car in vegas, we found one that was unlocked
left it where we found it, after a few trips around the block

standing here in this kind of dichotomy
like some wild dog wandering 'round the city
i'm elated to have you right next to me
don't remember the last time i was happy
i've been walking on these same tracks for years
holding houses together with cans of beer
getting older, trading laughs for tears

pulled over in palm springs, we were swervin' in the slow lane
been doing it for miles, (one of those) radars caught us by plane
let off with a warning, (the officer even) wished us a safe trip home
at least, that's what i heard. been passed out since san bernardino
